About Flatland Cavalry:

Flatland Cavalry is a Texas-based Americana/country band from Lubbock, known for their warm blend of folk, country, and roots-rock and deeply personal storytelling.

Formed in 2012 by lead singer and songwriter Cleto Cordero and drummer Jason Albers while they were roommates at Midland College, the band later rounded out their lineup in Lubbock with Reid Dillon (guitar), Jonathan Saenz (bass), and Laura Jane (violin). When Jane left in 2018, Wesley Hall stepped in on fiddle.

Their first EP, Come May, was released in 2015, funded by a grassroots campaign that reflected the band’s close connection to their fans. They broke through more widely with their full-length debut, Humble Folks (2016), which landed on the Billboard Americana/Folk chart. Their follow-up, Homeland Insecurity, arrived in 2019 and showcased more mature songwriting, introspective themes, and a tighter musical cohesion.

Flatland Cavalry’s sound is often described as “easy on the ears, heavy on the heart,” making them standouts in the Red Dirt and Texas country scenes. Their songs—rooted in the wide-open landscapes of West Texas—feature character sketches, honest love songs, and reflections on life, all delivered with sincerity and emotional depth.

Over the years, the band has earned major recognition: they’ve racked up multiple No. 1s on Texas country radio, surpassed 500 million streams, and contributed music to major film and television soundtracks. 2025, they were inducted into the West Texas Walk of Fame, a nod to their cultural impact in their home region.

Flatland Cavalry continues to tour nationally, bringing their heartfelt storytelling and melodic roots music to audiences far beyond Texas.
